Use your EBT Bridge Card at the City Market

Vendors of Lansing City Market accept Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT). EBT is an electronic system that allows a recipient to authorize transfer of their government benefits — including food stamps — from a federal account to a retailer account, to pay for products received. Lansing City Market currently has 27 vendors accepting EBT food stamps.

Lansing City Market was one of six pilot markets in the state to offer the use of EBT, and the program is sustained through grant funding administered by the Michigan Farm Market Association, an organization with ties to MSU and Project for Public Spaces. The program was just awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the USDA in recognition of its endeavors. Michigan presently leads the nation with 11 farm markets participating in the program and currently accepting EBT.
