Parking FAQ

Can monthly permits be purchased for the Lansing City Market parking lot?
Yes, a monthly parking permit can be purchased by contacting the City of Lansing Parking Office at 517-483-4240.

Is their always available parking for City Market customers?
Yes, we go to great lengths to make sure that there is plenty of free parking for our valued customers any time the market is open.

Is their parking available even if the gate on Shiawassee Street is closed?
Yes, when the gate on Shiawassee Street is closed, simply go South on Cedar Street to Museum Drive. Enter the South end of the City Market parking lot from Museum Drive.

If you are a non-market customer will you get ticketed in the City Market parking lot?
Yes, If you do not have a monthly permit and are using the lot for non-market activities you will be ticketed. Special occasions do allow non-market parking, but a parking attendant will be present and charge a nominal fee.

If they are charging for event parking, is it still free for market customers to park?
Yes, simply tell the parking attendant you are a City Market customer and he/she will let you in free of charge.
